Objective |
QUERCUS biggest challenge is to promote the reduction of homes energy consumption, increasing the number of renewed energies. For this, QUERCUS has necessity to sensibilize the Portuguese families, giving concrete solutions to them, in order to help effectively them to modify their behaviors in favor of the environment. This change of behavior must happen in some levels: more efficient energy management, a larger use of renewed energies, favorable infrastructure selection and for the habitation, isolation and purchase of more efficient electrical dosmetic equipment, among others. |

Challenge |
Avoiding leaks of gas supply and reduce the logistical costs were the two main necessities of BP. The data collected by SMAlert during the day is sended periodicaly to the Datawarehouse central server of ISA. |

Solution |
iMeter appears as the ideal solution to answer to the ambitious challenge of the QUERCUS. Being easy to intall at homes, iMeter allows monitorizing the energy consumptions, providing afterward the collected information so that the users can consult its consumptions through Internet. After identified the uses less rational, the resident will be able to opt to modifying his behavior, approaching its residence to the true concept “ecohome”. |

Other Applications |
Currently, families were iMeter has been installed are already acceding to the Internet get their homes energy consumption. In some cases, the existence of this monitorization was enough to promote the consumptions reduction. As future evolution, it is intended to support the residents to get energy consumptions reductions at their homes. For such service will be given to the customer a consultancy service, promoted by QUERCUS in partnership with ISA. The project is in the final phase of iMeter installation. The consumptions information is already available for the residents. |
